The fiberglass/plastic coupler discs that connect the engine to the hydros failed for the first time after 13 years. Now they only last a few weeks. Is this common? Are there more robust discs available?
You must make sure that the discs are mounted tight and that the two shafts are in a straight line. If it is not straight, added angular pressure will break the discs. It would be like two shafts turning and connected without a swivel joint.
