Hi, I have a Honda HT-R3009 riding lawn mower that I have had for years. I have a gas leak some where and not sure where coming from. The carb was cleaned out at a dealer shop but the gas leak continues. If I don't turn the gas control on off my hold tank of gas will be gone the next time I want to use. Does anyone know what part is bad? Thank you.

Best way to find out is get in there dry everything off and inspect. Check the fuel lines and the clips. Follow down to carb and look for wet spots

Was it leaking before the shop worked on it? If not, I'd take it back to the shop and let them sort it.

Otherwise, it appears there is a single tube from the fuel tank to the carburetor; for sure check it for wear, cracks, and make sure the clamps on both ends are secure. This mower is pushing 25 years old, so the tube may be simply old and cracked.

FYI, the fuel system on the HT-R3009 is a gravity-fed type. The tank sits higher than the carburetor, so fuel drains from the tank to the carburetor and so that fuel line is under slight pressure. Since the fuel leak stops with the fuel valve OFF, the leak must be happening before the valve. The fuel tank itself may have a crack or damage.

A fuel leak of any kind is very dangerous. Fumes can easily ignite. Be sure to keep the mower outdoors and away from any flame or heat source. Don't start or use the mower until the fuel leak is repaired. Wipe up spilled fuel immediately and dispose of properly. Don't risk fire or injury.
