Drive engages then "sticks" engaged full speed!! Only way I can stop it is to lift up on handle so back drive wheels off ground and bang it down, then runs okay for awhile. I have adjusted cable and taken inspection plate off bottom of drive ans all seems okay on a visual inspection. IDEAS???
Thanks

1. Loosen the clutch cable adjuster completely.
2. Confirm there is no tension in the clutch cable at the transmission control arm. If tension exists, disassemble and inspect the Smart Drive control.
3. Inspect the transmission control arm return spring. If the spring is damaged, broken, etc., replace it.
4. Place the mower on a flat level surface and pull it backwards.
5. if it rolls easily, adjust the cable. If it is hard to roll back, the rear adjuster arms should be inspected and cleaned, along with the bushing and axle shaft. Apply general purpose grease to the bushings and axle.

Well, I hope issue solved. I attempted all things Robert posted, then i took plate of bottom of drive unit, observed operation and gave the slip washers and drive wheel a shot of oil! Put back together. All is now well. I used the mower for about and about after the oil treatment and all is well so far. I did tweak the line adjustments once the drive wheel steady engagement stopped. Thanks all.
