I'm trying to find a Honda SHOP manual covering a GX340 engine with the serial number GCAMK 1200619. Honda has them for sale for a rather exorbitant price, which I really can't afford. I have only the one engine that I inhereted from my employer. It is still attached to a "Multiquip" 6000 watt generator. the generator end is supposedly toast, but the engine is ok. One of the aluminum feet had been broken off, but I was able to reweld it back to the engine. The problem is that the carbuerator, and a few of the other externals have been dismounted from the engine. To be perfectly honest, I've never worked on one quite like this one, and find myself needing a shop manual. A downloadable PDF file would be perfect, but thus far, I have not been able to find one; plenty of owners and service manuals out there, but no shop manuals. Can anyone help?

Honda only sells paper copies, $34.95, and that includes shipping. Pretty cheap compared to taking the engine to a shop for repairs. The one for the GX340 is a full 124 pages. Any digital copies you might find online are pirated, and many not include all the pages/information for your exact engine. If you just need a page or two, I can share a couple online, but if you doing a full overhaul or extensive work, having your own paper copy is truly priceless compared to the frustration of not having one.

With regards to the carburetor, my catalogs still show all versions available. Stamped on the side is a code, "BE80D" for example, I'd need the code off your carb to match it exactly. Full list price for a completely new carburetor is $64.13, but many dealers offer discounts.

Thankyou Sir! I hope you go to Heaven someday; just not too soon. If you could share the pages that deal with mounting the carbuerator, and it's attendant linkages that would be about all I need just now. As I understand it from my company's purchasing dept, there was nothing wrong with the engine. It was the generator end that was "fried". Apparently when the vendor the company used to use to service our generators, last serviced this unit, and found the fault/s with the generator, he had dismounted the carb , fuel pump, idle control solenoid, and govenor linkages. When we told him we would scrap the machine instead of repairing it, he merely returned it without reconnecting anything. I need to only remount the carb and etc, split the generator from it, and thus have a serviceable engine for a different application. The engine serial number is GCAMK1200619. There is also another number: AHM450 2012 11.
If I am able to get another one or two of these engines, I undoubtedly will invest in a shop manual. Just now however, I can't; my wife is quite sick and money is more than a little tight.

This should cover it; best of luck with the project!
