Good morning!
I hope everyone’s week is going well. I have a 4 year old Honda self propel that bogs down when i engage the blades. Any thoughts on what could be going on?

Thank you

Is it just temporary as the blades come up to speed? If so that's normal.

If it drags continuously, you may want to look at the blade clutch to see if there are any broken components in there that could be leaving or keeping the brake partially on. Could also have something jammed in the clutch / brake area.

If none of that and you have black smoke, make sure the air filter is clean and you've got fresh gas.

maybe your brake is rubbing, is it harder to turn the motor over??

Hey everyone. Thanks for replies. It’s an HRX 217. It only bogs as I engage blade. The. It evens out. Sounds normal I guess.

Thanks again!

Yeah, it's normal for a mower to big momentarily when the blade(s) are engaged. If you have the Quadra Cut mulching system on your mower the bogging can be pretty significant.
