I have 12 years old Honda lawnmower. Last weekend I was mowing my lawn that it stopped working.
Upon examination, I notice a small hole near the oil dipstick. Please see the attached image.
Question-
1. What part/assembly I need to get changed?
2. Is it worth changing or buy a new one. note that my lawnmower probably needs new blades and tires as well.
I will appreciate your help!
Thanks

Whoa!
Did you hear a bang or metallic noise when it stopped? I'm willing to bet you threw the connecting rod. Have you/did you check your oil level?
1. Probably a new crankshaft, connecting rod, cam belt, crankcase halves. at the least. it will end up being way easier to replace the entire engine.
2. I'd say it's at least new engine time, honda still makes and sells this style engine.

Thanks. Yes, I did hear a bang or metallic noise when it stopped. I do check oil but I think oil was leaking.
So I just replace the engine along with items listed in your point 1) above.

I you have a Lowe's nearby, you might be better off just getting a new mower...rather than spending most of the new mower cost to repair this one. I bought one of these this past Spring, and outside of getting used to the way the drive system works, the mower has been quite good. Give it a look.
