mower wont stay running. shuts down after running about 1-2 minutes with no load. replace spark plug and air filter. any suggestions? thanks

How old/fresh is the fuel in the tank? I'd first try draining out any fuel that is more than 30 days old and refill with fresh.

I can also share some troubleshooting details if you'll post the serial number off the back of the mower's deck:

Did you change the oil this year? Oil level full? Air cleaner changed this year? Clean air filter? Have you flushed out the gas tank? Are you using fresh gas? Is there an in tank fuel filter? Have you cleaned the carb.? Spark plug changed this year? Gap checked? Is there fuel flow from the gas tank to the carb? Does the choke operate freely?
