Had my Toro recycler for about 10yrs. now and won't be buying a Toro again. Too many things I don't like about it.

Do you die hards recommend this Honda model for $620.00?

Had a Snapper years ago and loved the rugged construction but, it appears maybe they aren't the mower they used to be.

I mow two yards that is a total of 1/2 -3/4 of an acre, I just want a rugged mower that will hold up for many years.

I'm hoping Honda will be the right choice?

Thanks for any input!

I have had 4ea Honda mowers and they are great. The only thing I don't like about them is parts are higher than others I have owned. Everyone of them had a problem with the carb's they gum up real quick. However once fixed they always start easy and cut nice. I changed after the first two and bought a Kubota self propelled and loved that mower until they quit selling them in the U.S. and parts are almost impossible to find.

I don't know what issues you have had with your Toro but so far my z turn has been great and I still have a 21" Honda for the trim work where the Toro wont go.

Bought the Honda today. So far it feels like a better engineered unit than my old Toro 21" super recycler. It feels better balanced than the Toro. The Toro to me felt like trying to maneuver a boat anchor compared to the Honda.

Does it have an auto choke? I was thinking about buying a honda too but people say with the auto choke you have to let it cool off after cutting a lawn or its a pain to start it again.

Yes it does have auto-choke. Mowed my back yard last night stopping on occasion and didn't have any trouble re-starting. Time will tell if it turns out to be a good mower. I like it much better than the Toro I had, It gives a much nicer cut than the Toro. I never liked the quality of cut from the Toro since day one.

If you start it up and shut it down less than 5 mins run time it'll be hard to restart. But if it reaches operating temp it'll restart every time.
