My HRT216KS3A tranny has a stripped gear. New tran from Plano is about $130. Has anyone heard of doing a tranny swap on a mower? My question is....are some Honda model transmissions able to be slightly modified to be installed in different Honda mowers? Kind of like what we do with our cars. Are some trannies interchangeable? Just thinking it would be great to have my self-propel back again without having to spend a sack full of money. Plenty of used working Honda transmissions available...but will they work if installed in other models? What ya think guys?

Export threadI'd scrounge up several transmissions, IF they are but $10 apiece ..IF $50, then it had best be a match, with a one year warranty .. The , ''rebuild"" as necessary using the best parts (visibly)..Of course, every gear(the same as yours) may be stripped ..transmissions are like this ..
