Honda HRR216VYA leaves traces of grass when mulching

We purchased a Honda HRR216VYA mower at Home Depot and invested in a higher end brand of lawnmower based on the reviews in Consumer Reports and the retailer's website.

We've had the mower for approximatley 1 month and run into the same problem mentioned by several other members of the forum. The mower mulches reasonably well but leaves traces of grass coming from the rear wheels. A couple of notes:
- We do not mow when it is wet
- We mow twice a week so the grass does not get too long to be mulched efficiently
- We have raised the deck one adjustment/notch yet it still leaves traces of grass

In all honesty, we spent nearly $600 to have a mower that performed better. If there is a fix we expect that Honda would recommend it to their customers.

We are interested in the special "blow out" kit you referenced in a previous post. Please let us know who to contact and/or how we can get the problem resolved.

We appreciate any assistance. Thank you!

Bob, you ought to contact Honda Customer Relations and discuss; they can get some facts and input about your lawn, conditions, mower, etc. and make some recommendations for improvement. A blow-out kit may or may not apply to your symptoms and mower, so let Honda's pros help work up a solution for you. Call (770) 497-6400, M-F, 9-5 EST. When you call, have the serial number (off the back of the mower deck) handy; it will expedite the process and let the staff know exactly which Honda mower you are using.
