honda hrr216vxa leaking fuel

So last Saturday I cut my grass, the mower started and ran fine. Saturday night I noticed a strong odor of raw gas in the garage. I figured I just spilled a little when I gassed up the mower. Sunday morning the odor was very intense, and I thought it was one of my cars, but couldn稚 see anything. Monday still there, definitely NOT from spilling gas. I look and the mower deck has gas dripping down to the floor and pooling there. I checked the fuel tank and it was completely empty now. I tipped the mower to the muffler side and gas was running out of the muffler. I tipped it to the air cleaner side and the air filter got soaked with gas and it was running out the air filter.

So.....kind of bummed about this, and doing research it looks like it might be a stuck float valve. Rather than mess with disassembly and cleaning I will just buy a new carb. But I also did see something about recalls for cracked fuel tanks. Anybody know if this could be the problem?

This forum has been a wealth of help, so thanks in advance.

So just a follow up. It was the float valve in the carb. Replaced the whole carb with one from Repair Clinic I found on this site. Got a 5% discount. They have a video on their web site that shows how to remove and reinstall the carb, it was super helpful. They did say reuse the old gaskets in the video, which was a mistake. I ordered a new set of gaskets, put it all together and now the engine runs fantastic, and no gas leaks.

Could you provide a link to the video for removing and reinstalling the carb?

Thanks!
