I have a 2 year old Honda HRR 216VKA, purchased from Home Depot. It ran perfectly, and started easily for two years, but recently I had
difficulty re-starting the mower after using it for some time. The mower had good spark, I adjusted the valves, and changed the spark plug.
No real change. So I changed the thermowax choke activator, but that didn't really help. What did work, was that I disassembled the carburetor,
cleaned everything out with carb cleaner, and blew out all jets and passages with compressed air. Now the mower works fine, and I have to thank
this forum for the information posted about the carburetor troubles of Honda mowers.
I've rebuilt many carburetors over the years, and my first thought was to do the same here. What puzzled me was there there is no carb rebuild kit
for my mower. Apparently you're supposed to replace the carb if it causes problems, rather than simply rebuild/clean it.

Again, thanks to this forum for all the help it offers us.

With the cost of replacement carbs for today's Honda engines, there is no reason to rebuild them. The average cost of the last 6 carbs I needed was about $17, it would cost more than double that in labor alone, if I was to try to rebuild it.
