Honda hrb 215

...So I'm new to the forum, but not new to the engine world!! I was given an hrb 215 for free.....It won't free wheel backward, I took the wheenls off and cleaned up the gears, but the transmision shafts are very hard to turn by hand. Is there supposed to be a "grease" inside of the transmission? It looks like this will be a fun tranny to remove..

There were a number of transmissions and drive options for the HRB models (dog type, cone type, 3-speed, hydrostatic, etc.), and many parts are still available. Suggest you start by getting the correct shop manual; it will pay for itself very quickly. Honda sells paper shop manuals only (no digital copies) and they provide free shipping and updates for three years. Here's a link to the shop manual for all HRB models:
