I just replaced the spring on my mower. I put it all back together, and now the plastic dog doesn't come out when the rope is pulled to grab the flywheel cup. I didn't overtighten the bolt, and upon looking at a parts schematic, no pieces are missing. What the beep? It seems that the spring which sits against the dog (ratchet arm) would hold it closed, but I never saw it in action before the coil broke, so I can only go on how it looked when I opened it up initially. I can hear my lawn growing, and its my only mower in near operation right now. PLease Help!

Hey Engine_Girl and welcome to the forum.
I don't know the answer to your question -- all I can say is to be sure the part isn't binding and that it's not on upside-down or something like that.
I like the bike/mower in your avatar -- does that thing actually work?

I moved your thread to the Small Engine & Mower Repair Forum. You'll get a better response there.

You know, I wonder if it does. I got it from thereifixedit.com, a site devoted to kludges. It looked just like what I'd have in this yard!!

You might try the Honda forum. Somebody there might have your model.
