I was given an older Honda HR215, I had it tuned up new carb, new wheels etc and now when I engage the blade it kills the motor. I can fiddle with it and make it work but any ideas would be appreciated. The motor starts on first or second pull, self propelled works great, just the blade issue. Thanks

how deep are the weeds / grass you are trying to cut? Have you cleaned out the build up under it?
wheels and blade turn easily, I can get it to work if I play with it many times and eventually the engine will keep running, I have cut the grass with it. I will try and do a video of it.
Mine would die every time ever since new if I try to slam the blade clutch in when it is cold. (Once warmed up, no or far less of a problem . . . ) I find nursing the clutch just a bit when it just starts to engage to let it rev up a bit before pushing it home helps. Yeah, I know the manual says not to do that, but then again, with 30+ years and at least 2000 hours on this mower, and the original blade clutch material still being well within serviceable thickness, I can't see what I do as a problem . . .
