Has anyone heard any updates for the HRN series of Honda lawnmowers in light of Honda's recent action? Thanks

Honda is out of the mower business. Tell your friends. As in all mowers. Even the HRC Commercial jobs. They never side discharged anyway LOL.

According to a recent press release, Honda notified its power equipment dealers in October 2022, informing them that it would stop manufacturing lawnmowers and other gas-powered equipment effective September 2023. In the press release, the company said, “The decision to end lawn mower production is driven by market forces such as stricter environmental regulations, shifting customer preferences, and our focus on growing profitable products in our portfolio."

That's a self-propelled mower with a 21" or 25" cut and made overseas but using the Kawasaki engine.

At least Honda will keep making parts and engines. I've owned quite a few Honda-powered lawnmowers with zero issues regarding the engines. In 2020 I finally bought the Honda HRN216VKAA Self-propelled mower and haven't experienced any issues recently mentioned in online videos. One of the issues reported is that the Honda HRNs cease to pull start.

Honda needed the North Carolina walk behind mower plant to produce side x sides and ATVs.
As far as I know, they will still be producing V-Twin commercial mower engines.
Good luck finding any brand of gasoline powered walk behind mower at Lowe’s or Home Depot. They have swallowed the battery powered pill.

If I encounter the alleged engine issue behind the recent Honda action and Honda provides no support, I will install this Predator engine which can be obtained at a good discount as HF frequently offers 30% off purchase coupons.
