Morning all. My issues continue with the HRM215HXA. Resolved the high revving during witch I had to reset the timing, I had done it before but this time I could not find the timing mark on the crankshaft. Even had my daughter look. Did the TDC during the compression stroke thing but now it runs but has a miss. What could I have done wrong? Suggestions please. Thank you

Personally I would wait overnight.

Tks Star however those instructions are for a different engine. My engine is a GXV140 if you might have the info for that engine it would be appreciated

Sorry about you're right they are for GCV140. That was without my morning coffee.

You are looking for an open circle. It is going to be very hard to see if not worn away.

I saw the old post from 2020 and was looking for that mark. Found it 10+ years ago but no luck this time. I also tried the TDC way and counted 5 gear teeth over from the keyway. Still no luck. Any other methods you can suggest?

Not now but in the future check for marks before disassembly comes to mind. If not present punch one.

I know it is no help now but next time if you any others remember to do so.
