I got a basket case GX 640 that I have rebuilt for my old Steiner. The coil looks like it has a terminal for 12 volts and one for the trigger. One terminal is black the other is green. Which terminal is for the 12 volt supply? I must say I really like the way this engine is designed. Should work very well.

There were a number of versions of the GX640, so multiple wiring diagrams, depending on the type (standard, engine coolant temp sensor, oil pressure, and both). Have a look and these should help I.D. all the connections:

That helps a lot. Thank you. I am in the process of making my pto adapter for the hydro pump now. This engine had the oil sensor but no coolant sensor. From the diagram I have a BL wire which looks to be ground that goes from the cdi to the coil to ground, and a Br/W that connects the cdi to ignition. The Bu goes to PC and BLBU goes to PCE on the pulser and CDI. Both the BLBU and BL connect to the black terminal for the Pulser and Ignition.
