Does anyone know where I can find a carburetor for a Honda GV 400 engine. This engine is now obsolete so no new ones around. I am more then happy to buy a second hand one as long as its in good usable condition. Thanks

It's true that particular carburetor is no longer available from Honda. There were two part numbers, depending on the serial number of the engine, that might help in your search.
Carb Assy BB38A A Part Number 16100-891-003 was for engines -104242
Carb Assy BB38A B Part Number 16100-891-013 was for engines 104243-
Good luck in finding a used one; if a new one was available, the suggested retail price was last pegged at $105.13(!)
Finally, a bit of "why" on parts. Honda generally will continue to offer a part for sale, provided it meets two conditions (a) There must be ongoing demand (sales) for the part (2) Honda must be still be able to obtain/manufacture the part within a reasonable cost. This is why some parts will get discontinued just a few years after a model is discontinued, but other parts will continued to be available even if the original product has been discontinued for many, may years.
