I know my way around small engine pretty well...have done it for a living as well, and that is why my issue bothers me. TroyBuilt Mower with the Honda GCV160LA0, my neighbors mower. Came to me with NO START issue....Well just before asking me to do it he had already removed carb, along with his copilot Budweiser and lost a few pieces to carb....Mainly the gaskets...I replaced everything cleaned, and still NO START without using good ole carb cleaner in intake....We decided just to buy new carb with all needed gaskets in a kit...very inexpensive and good to have extra parts we both agreed...Came in today I replaced....STILL NO START....I AM getting fuel to the carb, but not the cylinder it seems. I have replaced the fuel too with fresh fuel. HELP I am feeling retarded over this....lol...Thanks in advance...

Some "if's" for you to ponder: IF fuel is getting INTO the carburetor bowl, and IF the engine will start and run for a second or two with a shot of carburetor cleaner in the intake then it is logical that for some reason fuel is not getting THROUGH the new carburetor. One possible reason is that there may not be enough manifold vacuum in the venturi to draw fuel up the emulsion tube/main jet and another possibility is the main jet is clogged. I know you replaced the carburetor with a new one but new does not always equal good. In another similar thread, Rivets suggested that you place your hand over the carburetor intake while cranking the engine to feel for vacuum and to see if your hand gets wet with gasoline. This method also severely chokes the engine and will draw up substantial amounts of fuel if the carburetor is functioning properly.
