Probably been asked loads of times but how do I tell a gcv shaft size from an engine number. Need 25 mm shaft to drop a Honda onto a John Deere. Or any advice please

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately this site does not tell you what it means when you find the type as ‘MD47’ I am wanting to buy an engine with a 25 mm shaft and most sellers would not even know what to measure but most are happy to supply engine numbers.

I’m still not seeing which engine type refers to which shaft size.
On the newer engines it’s easy.. MY4 is a 25mm shaft. MY1 is a 22mm shaft!
On the older engines I cannot find any easy way via txt or msg to ask sellers the type.
When they send me the numbers they mean nothing I can find on the www
Obvious answer is to measure or just wait for an MY4 to turn up

From what I've read it's a 7/8" shaft , which is 22 MM.

You might look at these.
They all have 25MM shafts. If that's what you are looking for.
The first one on the list is a Honda
