I have a Honda HR217 mower. I cannot find the engine number, type or vin number. How can I identify this engine. Thanks!

Do you mean an "HRX217" or "HR17?" The HRX217 looks like this (left), and the HR17 looks like this (right):

Side-valve, 76cc motor, 2.2 hp @ 4,500 rpm. It even has a blade clutch ("Roto-Stop") and is self propelled.

Very early Honda mower...
