The big news tonight was the rescue of a golden retriever named Homer. What warmed my heart is that the Metro fire dept. was out there in large numbers. The dog ended up falling into a 30 foot hole that was dug for a sewer project. This dog is 13 years old. The vet says he's doing fine and is in stable condition. I guess he wandered off this morning. Owners had looked for him all day and then someone heard him barking. I'm so proud of the fire dept for rescuing this dog.
