I have an older Homelite line trimmer, over 20 years old. Still runs fine. However the fuel lines from the gas tank to the carb cracked and I replaced them. The fuel lines are inserted onto nipples in the carb, no problems. At the fuel tank they are just shoved into holes at the top. When I run the engine, fuel sloshes out around the fuel lines in the holes. The lines are the same size as the originals but apparently not snug enought to pevent the small gap. What would be best to seal this space and stop the sloshing?

Do the lines pass through a rubber grommet before entering the tank?
If so, replace the grommet. Homelite has a comprehensive website that will give you part numbers and pricing.
No, there was no grommet. The old lines were either sealed with something or had a much tighter fit. I was thinking of using some type of RTV sealant but wanted some opinions before I went to the store.
I did check out the Homelite site and they do show a fitting for the hole. Cost is only $.83 but the shipping is $12.45. I'm not home now so I couldn't check my exact model and just took a random guess. Nice site however. I'll wait and see if anyone as other ideas.
