I have a Dixon ZTR with a Briggs & Stratton Intek 15.5 OHV engine. I was mowing one day and the unit went into a high rev, shut it down and i tried to re-start and it popped through the carb and went into a high rev. again. throttle cable is in tact, and governor and all other linkage and springs and things seem to be working properly or at least moving freely. Any Ideas?

Export threadWhile moving the thottle back and forth look at the direction that the rod attached to the bottom of the governor arm moves when the throttle is moved to full throttle. Loosen the nut at the bottom of the arm and try to turn the rod in the same direction that the rod turned when moved to full throttle. If that doesn't fix it, you will have to remove the engine, remove the oil pan and replace the governor gear.
