I'm recently retired and have a 3 year old Toro 21" Recycler (self-propelled). It's my second Toro over the past 15 years. (Great mowers!) I have roughly a quarter acre lawn which is mostly flat, except for the side yards which drop down to the level of the walkout basement. After 50 years of walking behind a mower I'm thinking of getter a rider. Some of it is the 'toy' factor, admittedly.
I'm leaning toward a new 33" Snapper RER. My preference is a John Deere X300, but I can't justify the cost for such a small yard. Anyway, I've been reading your posts to help me make up my mind.
By the way, I have lived in near St. Louis for 30-plus years but I was raised a Hoosier, love basketball (not pro ball) and auto racing. Go figure.

:welcome: to the forum, glad you joined. Lot to be said about retirement, I retired about three years ago & have loved every second of it. You will find the right mower just remember, you will own it for a long time so get what you want.
