Hello All,

I just bought a Diesel 2006 Toro Z597-D Z Master Model # 74269 Serial # 260000168 at an auction and am trying to get it running. It cranked when I jumped it, but a fuse seemed to be wet and burned up so it died pretty quickly. I can fix that easy enough but I just noticed a couple other problems.

1. It is leaking fuel from the filter/seperator. This picture of the part shows it having what appears to be a vinyl tube on it and that is not on mine and it is leaking from where the tube should hook up. Am i right in assuming that it is a vinyl tube, if not what is it? Any idea of the size? And am I right in assuming I just make it long enough to go above the fuel filter and zip tie it still and it should prevent any more leaking or does it actually connect somewhere?

The part number is TORO Separator Fuel Filter 100-3191

2. Next it appears the SHEAVE-JACKSHAFT [XP] Part #: 103-5381
is broken as you can see in the picture. Is this something you think I need to replace ASAP or could I test it out how it is? If so anywhere good to get this other than from the manufacturer for $645 . Seems a bit excessive for a hunk of metal.

3. Any pro-tips of what you would do before even starting a used mower that you have 0 information on? I checked the air filter and it seems fine. Plan to check the oil and coolant as well before I try to crank it again, was also thinking of going out and getting a grease gun to grease everything up. Is their anything else I am missing, like you wouldn't even try it without checking/replacing ??? filter or whatever.

Thanks for your help from a beginning small farmer/nursery.

Let me add one more detail I don't believe the fuel filter/seperator was leaking when I first cranked it hours ago, but I pushed primer on the top down a couple times just to see what it did and attempted to crank it was after that that I noticed the stream coming from it
