I agree with unclelee that the bricktop (D-series engine) is a nice one to fix up. How's the compression? Any spark?

The other mower has an F-series engine (fine powerplant  ) and what looks like a rusted steel deck. I wouldn't bother with the deck but keep the engine and maybe the wheels.

Ohio is a great location for LB hunting. If you keep your eyes open I'm sure you can find great deals on some really cool mowers.

Your 7024 is a 1975,76, or 77. The first number of the serial number will be the same as the last digit in the year. Might want to double check the model numbers of the other mower, doesn't work in Lawnboy's database.

the deck and motor clearly state (*and i made sure to double check this.) it is L21ZPNC heres a little tip try this: "L21ZPN" instead:thumbsup::wink:

my brick is a '77 and the other is an '87 with a beat to **** deck. brick is probably running 50 lbs. compresion cut with it last night and MAN THAT THING IS LOUD AS HELL. is it normal for a magnesium deck to vibrate at the resonant frequency or is it something else?

ill post a vid of the brick running after school if you guys wanna see how it sounds to help diagnose the problem.
Oh i almost forgot i think my bricktop is running the same speed as my duraforce which doesn't seem right. ill post the vid around 4-5pm

quick question can this f engine go on a v series deck also? they look similar to duraforce decks too minus above deck exhaust. what decks can mate with this engine? if you see one on ebay or something please notify me.:tractor:

If the bricktop is really loud I'd look at the muffler for rust and also the gasket between that and the exhaust port.

If any of these mowers vibrate a lot the first thing to check is blade balance.

All F-series engines bolt onto an adapter which then bolts onto the deck. So you need the adapter that goes with the deck that you plan to use. The mufflers can be specific to the deck also.

About buying a deck... I'll bet if you look around your area (CraigsList, etc) you will do much better than eBay pricing (which can get pretty high :confused2: ).
