I have a Honda HRX 217 that has a broken Blade engage cable at the motor inside the composit deck - I cannot seem to figure out how to get to it to connect the new cable - do you have to drop the drive system out ? or is there a trick that I am missing?

Let's start with the frame serial number, and I can post some tips to help you get started:

I am not sure if yours is like my HRA216 or not but it just a bracket that hold it on. The cable needs to be fed through the top of the deck, through the transmission/rear guard and then attached to the clutch. Here a few pics showing the general idea.

Feed it through the deck



Slide the end of the cable through the opening of the clutch bracket



Bolt it down and you should be good. The be sure its properly adjusted at the handles
