I am attempting to get a Briggs and stratton push lawn mower running. There is a black wire that runs from the safety switch and runs clockwise to the coil and then comes back out (still going clockwise) and it looks like it has become detached but I don't know where from?
If you could supply a couple of pics, I think you would get an answer to your problem quite fast. Seeing what you are talking about would make our job alot easier.
The black wire starts from where the spring for the brake is located. It goes clockwise from there around to the coil and then goes in the coil via a plastic connector. The wire in question then comes out of the connector box and continues clockwise under the throttle governer (If that's what it's called?) and then that's where the wire ends without bring attached to anything
Take a look under the throttle control, pic #4, for a connection point. If your unit has a handle mounted throttle, if there should be a terminal shut off block there. The wire is used as a secondary shut off and needs to be hooked somewhere.
