I have a Scag 48" walk behind and I need to replace the motor. The current motor is a Kawasaki FC-420V. I pulled the deck off to get access to the bottom side of the motor. The problem I have is removing the main shaft bolt that runs up through the electric clutch, pulley assembly and into the motor. The pulley and the top of the motor, the recoil starter, spins with the bolt when I attempt to remove it. It's almost like I need to stick a metal pin in somewhere to lock it so I can break the bolt loose. Can anybody help me out with this? There are four bolts that secure the motor to the frame and I guessing the shaft bolt needs to come out as well. I have attached a few pics. You should be able to see the main bolt that runs up through the pulley's.
