Hi All,
Any idea what might be going on with Sears lawn mower with a Honda GCV 160 engine
that is leaking quite a bit of oil from the side air filter cover? I would really appreciate any help.
The most common reason I have found for oil in the air cleaner of the gcv engines is due to being tipped the wrong direction allowing oil to enter the crankcase breather which then drains out the air cleaner housing. also be aware that if the oil gets into the paper of the air filter it is permanently clogged and will need to be replaced. Another cause could be overfilled with oil, or oil diluted with gas.
