trying to cut a story short a very good friend that had cancer gave me a sabo 43 mower petrol (ps hes still around thank god)
hes moving house and does not need the mower any more i fixed it 2 years ago after he had the oil run it dry and he said the mower just stopped
the engine is a briggs and stratten i only refilled the oil and cleaned up the plug and new fuel after it stood a while and it started and run but with a bit of a rattle but he used for the two years and as said hes sold the house and given me the mower
i was over joyed that he had given it to me (he knows i play with mowers and chainsaws)because i did say it was one of the best mowers that i had seen with a big engine a high cutting height and a one lever height adjustment and the aluminum deak
i used the mower this morning the engine was making no more noise than it has for the last 2 years and the piston rod blown a hole in the side of the engine and looking inside most of the rod parts are in bits as well
i know that the engine is shot unless i get a bottem end and this is not worth it as the mower only go for 」50 on ebay working but i do have a briggs engine an older model 3.5 that i would like to transfer on to his old deak to get it back up and running again
what do i need to know be for starting a transplant eg will the bolt hole be in the same place ?
length of shaft make a difference ?
thanks for any help i hope this to be a good thread
thanks angel
