Help Identifying Engine on Edger

I recently picked up a Craftsman Edger model number 536-85649 and I am having trouble identifying the engine. I thinks it is a Tecumseh but I am not sure. The only numbers I could find are these 143 784102 SER8131B. Any help on decoding this or where else I can look for numbers would be great. Thanks!

You are correct, it is a Tecumseh engine.

All/most Craftsman engines have a "143" number. That is not the Tecumseh number, but Sears's own number. Looking at the Craftsman cross reference, it is indeed a Tecumseh
