Hello. I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Mark and I am new to this forum. I am tired of push mowing my yard and am looking into a zero turn. Looking forward to new friends and great help and advice on lawnmowers.

Depending on your budget a dealer will be your best bet, do your research & go try them out. A dealer will give you better & faster service verses a big box store, satisfying customers is their business.

I agree with Mark get it from a dealer, I purchased a Husqvarna RZ4623 in 2013 and as of yesterday I haven't had any problems with it, it now has 139 hours on it.

I would recommend a Husqvarna, to help we need to know how big your lawn is, I have about 1.5 acres I mow and the RZ4623 will do it in about 1 hour and 20 minutes, what I have is a residential with sealed drives which are Hydro gear EZT, they are used in a good bit of low end residential mowers, they are sealed but you can take them out and change fluid, I would buy another mower with EZT drives.

You can move up to low end commercial which will last longer but of coarse you will pay quite a bit more for it.
So how much is your budget ?

Hi Mark : I use a Troy Built RZT 50 with 23 HP Kohler Courage. I bought it used for parts but ended up being a simple repair of replacing the cooling fan and oil in the right hand EZT drive unit. It has around 200 hours on it and seems to be holding up well. I hung some weight on the back to lighten up the front wheels so it would steer smoother . It was engineered well as it will mow tall grass with the lever all the way forwards, Horse power for deck width is a good match. On rough ground it will get to bouncing and my hands make the levers get jerky and I have to stop and start over and behave myself . I am tough on it and am always amazed that it takes it. I have used a Scag Tiger Cub and for sure the commercial mower is so much better ride and has dampers on the levers . But now the season is over and it will be in storage and forgotten it is nice to not have a payment to remind me . The biggest problem is once you mow with the zero turn you cant go back to the tractor style , it will be like your first go kart ride , you will be mowing the neighbors yard for free just for the fun. If you are not the weekend mechanic type you probably should get new or at least know the person you are buying from because it can fall from the value of $1000 down to $200 over night with the first Hydro drive problem and there is two of them under there. Welcome and please share with us what you bought and what you think.
