I have been searching for days for reviews on the Husqvarna mz-t series mowers particularly the 61 with 23 HP Kawasaki. I have read alot of the threads on the mz-t 52 on here . I'm very glad I found this forum.

Welcome to the forum!!! You may want to compare a 60" Gravely Pro-Turn to the Husqvarna(which I also like a lot). Right now, my local dealer shows the Gravely model with the Kawa(Model# 991202) on sale for $6,599 which is only $300 more than the Husqvarna. However, the Husq does have the ZT-3400 trannies versus the Gravely running the ZT-3200's. Basically, that M-ZT 61 is a Dixon DX100 entry-level Commercial ZTR(Husqvarna bought Dixon a few years back and have incorporated many of the Dixon features into their Husqvarna line). I almost pulled the trigger on a 52" DX100 in 2012 for $6400 out-the-door. That being said, the MZ-T 61 is a very good machine for that money and a very good ZTR to compare to others in that same category(high-end Residential to low-end Commercial). Good luck in your search(the more ZTR's you look at the more your head will begin to spin:0)

I have an addiction to the old Gravely L models. That being said when I started my hunt I was told " you are not getting another Gravely". I did look at them but the closest dealer is an hour away and a lot more than $6500. The Husqvarna dealer is about 25 miles and under $6000 for the kawasaki model.I have looked at at least 10 different ztr and quit because I was so confused. I'm going up tomorrow morning and more than likely buy the mz-t 61.

I think you will be very happy with that choice. I have a 2013 Dixon Ultra and love it. It is the exact same machine as the MZT except mine doesn't have cast iron spindles, kawasaki engine, or a ROPS. Everything else is identical.

Yep, buying Dixon was the best thing that ever happened to Husqvarna to improve their ZTR lineup!!! Dixon was one of the very first mass-produced ZTR mower companies and actually hold the original patent on the zero turn transaxle(they purchased that patent in November 1973 and produced their first models in March of 1974..the ZTR-1, ZTR-2 and ZTR-3). Some other manufacturers try to claim they were the first ZTR mower company....but just Google Dixon ZTR-1 and do a little research.

I'm now broke. I went to the Husqvarna dealer yesterday and bought the mz-t 61. They are going to deliver it Saturday morning around 9. Thanks djdice and Heus for your replies.
