Hello im from Ohio A friend has upgraded to a new exmark and he is selling his that he had bought used for himself. Its a 1998 lazer z commercial zero turn 52 deck i believe its an x series. Model number says its a 1998 and had a kohler 18 hp but the previous owner put a 25 hp kohler motor in it my friend used it for a few years before it started backfiring so my friend had the mower put in the shop to totally be gone over before he decided to upgrade. The mower had a valve job rebuilt carb updated coil system a new clutch, new belts, fluids change, fuel and hydraulic filter. Also replaced the head gaskets the mechanic said the engine looks real good inside. Also two new deck spindles and also new bearings for all three spindles mechanic said the hydros and pumps are in good shape. It will also come with a bagger system thats showing some wear. He is asking 2500.00 The age of the mower worries me (1998) one big break down will put me way over what the mowers worth? I could used an experienced opinion can anyone advise? I have a small yard, half acre i would like to have a heavy duty mower for in the fall because my leaves are unreal in the fall i have alot of trees.

Hi geelee. The mower is solid. Just a tiny bit of surface rust on the deck (small area)that can be taken right off with a wirebrush on the deck. Anything else is just cosmetic due to the age for example the plastic tanks can use a shot of krylon paint to spiffy it up. I even saw the deck with the spindles removed...no rust at all under the spools or where the spindles mount. . The sale price is 2500.00. Thanks for getting back to me I really appreciate it
