I just got the automatic "Why not introduce yourself" email from Muhammad so I guess I will. :thumbsup:
I'm a long time member over at TractorByNet but read and post randomly. Trained as an auto mechanic but been in the parts end of the business for 35 years. Not much I can't fix or maintain.
My mower is a 20 hp B&S, 42" cut YardMachine (MTD) with a mulch plug that my 300 lb + butt has been riding for the last 14 years. After 3 deck belts, 1 change of the other 2 belts and less then $100 worth of steering parts over those 14 years (along with regular maintenance)... I have NO problem with MTD built machines.
We also have a 22" B&S powered that my wife considers hers. It's a Wal-Mart special built by Murray that we bought 3 years before the Yard Machine. Nothing but oil and spark plug changes on it. And 3-4 blades in that time.
Anyway, I'll pop in and read every now and then and if I think I can add something, I'll do that too. I may be posting a question soon since it's about time for a new machine... but I don't really plan on buying until we move in the future.
