OK, bear with me on this. Old craftsman 917.275680 24 HP lawn tractor.. Two weeks ago I had to replace the deck belt.. I replaced it, I went to mow and I pulled the blade engage switch and nothing. Shut the mower off, looked at the wires, didn't really find anything. Belt was installed fine,, not my first time doing that repair.. Start the engine back up, pulled the switch, blades came on and I mowed without further issue.
Fast forward to yesterday. Mower engine started fine, blades started fine. Got 2/3 through the front yard and the engine just quit, just as though the key had been shut off. Now it will do NOTHING. No click, absolutely nada.
I jumped the solenoid terminals, mower started and ran fine. Pull the blade engage switch and nothing except engine tries to shut off again as though key has been turned off. Disengage the switch and engine recovers and continues to run.
