Hayter Harrier 41 starting problem....advice needed please

Hi All,

Tried to start my Hayter Harrier 41 this morning to give my lawn its first cut of the season but she simply won't start. I replaced the spark plug thinking it may be that. There's plenty of fuel, oil is fine and no obstructions anywhere. I also checked the air filter and that wasn't too bad.

The only thing I noticed when I put her away last year is that when she started she did 'hunt' for a few minutes whilst the engine was warming up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
Daz

More than likely the carb and fuel system will require to be cleaned.

Then add fresh fuel.

What model Briggs engine?

How do I do that? Not sure the model of B&S engine I'm afraid.

It's a model 12F802-1325-01. Hope that helps!

I would think about taking it to a B&S dealer.

It could be fuel related which would mean removing the carb and fuel tank and giving a clean.

It could also be the ready start system that has failed.
The thermostat could be siezed which is not allowing the choke to go on.

It could also be a lack of spark from the spark plug surpressor cap.

You tube is a good place to find info as trying to explain is difficult.
