Hello, An old friend gave me his '99 Harmony by Honda that he had bought new. It runs and cuts great but it started getting hard to find reverse. Now we cannot find it at all. Also, it became increasingly hard to find the spot where the safety lock out switch is that would allow the ignition to crank/start the engine. I can place the shifter 1/2 between N and R and it will start right up. but if it's in the proper slot it will not turn over & start.
The Reverse problem just started suddenly and refuses to fix itself. ;-)
Any suggestions? Is there an adjustment to the shift linkage that is needed to align with the N and P positions? Similar question for the lack of a Reverse gear; could that be a linkage adjustment? I have searched everywhere I could think of for a description of the Shift Linkage - unfortunately there was little to be found.
