i am looking at a john deere gt235 for sale. any opinions would help. it has the 18 hp kawaski with the 48" deck, 42" front blade, 7bu powerfl;ow bAGGEr, chains wheel weights, and tow behind areator. it has 154 hours and the owner is asking 2500 for it. is this a good deal?e

Not in my mind unless it a 2005 model. Even then its at the top of price.

Yes that is a good price, the tractor alone with bring around $2500 since the hours are low.

Edit to add: Be sure to check out the mower thoroughly, do you know the seller by any chance?
Buying used is always a gamble and you do not want to buy equipment that has been ragged out and different meters on them, which is quite common to have done especially buying from a mom and pop repair shop.

I own a 1997 GT235 6 speed with 48 deck and snowblower.

Love it, as my wife uses it almost every week, summer and winter!

you have to remember accessories are about 30 cents on the dollar at resale...Do you know what year it is? Does it have a foot deck lift or hand deck lift? This should tell you a little as the foot lift are the newer models...Seems to be a little on the high side, as where i am at a GT 235 on craigslist with 200 hours goes for around 1750.00 and that is in great shape
