Greetings and need help with mower

Greetings All. I picked up a well used Craftsman model 917388021 6.0HP push mower real cheap and need some help identifying the engine on it as the carb needs rebuilding and some other work needs to be done. I have looked for any identification numbers on the engine and so far have not found any. Attached are a couple of pictures of the only labels on the mower. If anyone can direct me toward a manual and/or id the engine it would be of great help.

Cleaned the carb, replaced the leaking float with a brass one and the mower runs like a champ now. How to hack it up to make it a brush mower.
