I have posted on here before about my great satisfaction with Greenworks 60V tools. I have a mower, chainsaw, blower, string trimmer , & hedge trimmer, all using the 60 v system. I had my first failure of any kind . One day, my string trimmer would not work. I checked it will a different battery & that was not the problem. I called Greenworks & talked with their tech. We talked about 15 minutes & he said that a BRAND NEW String Trimmer was going to be sent to me, WITH a NEW battery & charger !! I am completely pleased !

Well, yeah... that IS great customer service, but... I'm not sure I'd be pleased if my 3 1/2 yr old trimmer needed a complete replacement. I have two Echo PAS systems, both of which are over 10 yrs old. Not a single engine or attachment has needed replacement or repair. OK, except the trimmer head, which is a wear item.

Kind of a tangent but being cali and others are banning gas mowers, what electric mowers do commercial mowers have to pick from? I mean Greenworks mower??? Commercial??? They would probably go through 3 each season.

I take good care of everything I own. I had a Robin Weedeater for over 30 years, that only needed a carb rebuild, new recoil, etc. I have not gotten good service AT ALL from my last 2 gas ones. AND, they had worthless warranties . I am sold on Greenwork tools.

I'd be ESPECIALLY irritated if I took good care of my equipment, and it still died in 3 1/2 yrs. Worthless warranty... obviously not Echo then. Was your crappy gas equipment from one of the big three? Echo, Stihl, Husqvarna? If you had cheap gas tools, I'm not surprised at the problems. If you had that experience with any of the three I mentioned, I'd be surprised. Sounds like I need to hang on to my 10+ yr old Echo equipment.

If after 3.5 years the battery Greenworks trimmer dies to the point of complete replacement, then everyone else except the customer loses. Sending out brand new units from Greenworks is unacceptable and unsustainable. How does this affect the environment when Greenworks is ironically “being green?” What about the next time, or your other Greenworks handheld equipment that hasn’t taken a crap yet? I see 4O year old 2-stroke chainsaws from Stihl come in for repair still running. That is truly amazing, not 3.5 years of light homeowner use and needs to be replaced.

That's what I'm doing... I have 70's FS80s(among other old stuff). Would need my garage burn down to make me replace them.
