I have a Great Dane 52 inch mower. When I turn the key to turn it on nothing happens. The only way that I can turn it on is by jumping the solenoid with a screwdriver. When turning the mower off the key works but it does not turn it on. I have 2 of these mowers that are the same year and on both of them I have this problem. Any Ideas?

Most likely causes are a bad safety switch or a bad wiring connection someplace in the starting circuit. could also be a bad starter solenoid. You will have to go through the wiring with a meter to determine where the problem is.

ILENGINE's advice sounds correct. I have a Great Dane and have replaced several safety switches causing the problem you described.
