Gravely Promaster 260Z Clutch issue

So, the clutch started locking up and causing the mower to die, let it cool and it would work for awhile, then all of the sudden it would do it again. I checked it out and found that the clutch that engages the blades once the pto is tuned on was locking on me. I called a local dealer and they told me that this part fails pretty commonly on these mowers. I spent $350 ish on a new clutch, removed the old one and installed the new one. Used the mower for another 30-40 minutes and it started doing the same thing, locking up and trying to shut the motor down. Someone please help me? I have no Idea where to go from here. Is there a switch or something that is causing it to lock up or did I possibly install the clutch wrong?

Any help you all can offer would be fantastic!

responded on your other thread, sounds like a charging issue. Maybe a moderator could merge your 2 posts.

Fixing Electric Clutches Did you burnish clutch #5? Did you check air gap?

No, I was not aware I needed to do that. Am I boned or can I still perform this since I didn't use it that long?

Thanks for all the help and sorry for the dual posts, I don't get on forums much these days it seems. Is there a moderator that can merge the two? Please don't hate me!

I would check air gap first then burnish clutch per instructions. We're all human, let us know how it goes.
