I have a Gravely Pro-turn 152 and the belt spins two of the blades is very loose. What tightens the belt? I just don't readily see an easy way to tighten it. Or, do I just need a new one? It has 369 hours on it.
Belts wear on the sides and top to bottom, more than they stretch. Next time you see a worn belt that is say 1/2” wide, measure it and it will be more narrow than 1/2”. Take that difference and combine it over the length of the belt and it adds up to excessive wear.Generally, Gravely uses springs for belt tension and there is no adjustments. You should have a belt routing diagram on your deck and in the operators manual. Your spring could have stretched, broken or come off of the retainer. The bearing in the bracket may be shot. With the hours that you have on the unit, there will be some stretch in the belt. The model number and serial number of the mower would be helpful.
Spot on!Items 5 and 9 are the bushings. Items 9 are actually plastic sleeves. The idler arms are 14 and 34. You will need a press to remove them and then new 9s has has to be pressed in.
