Gravely Kohler Engine Smoking Sometimes

2005 Gravely lawn mover with only 150 hours: uses lots of oil, smokes sometimes and has started running rough. Has anyone had this problem.
 
Make sure the spark plugs are firing on both cylinders. Could be a valve problem or a head gasket problem. If you don't have fire on both cylinders the non working cylinder can act like a oil pump. Head gasket leaking causing cause symptoms similar to a blowby problem. Valve not working on one cylinder can act like a non firing plug. start with the spark plugs and see if both fire.
