grasshopper woods machine runs then dies

Guys,

Not sure, but I think my Woods 6210 was built by grasshopper, if not I apologize. IT is a early 1996 model. It has a Kawasaki FD620D engine on it. it has ran great since I bought it used. Now it runs for a while, 45 seconds then dies. it is like it runs out of fuel. I can chock it and get it started again. sometimes it starts easier than the next. I have checked the fuel pump, pumps tons of fuel. I even ran it straight to battery. I have also checked the fuel shutoff valve. also ran it strait to battery, and both time it just runs for a while then dies. Fuel pickup in tank is clean, air filter is new,

Any suggestions?

Get a spark tester and watch it and see if it is losing spark. Also see if your key switch is hot to the touch. I t might be shorting out.
