Grasshopper electric lift for snowblower problems

Hi i just purchased a grasshopper 729 over the weekend and i went to put the snow blower on that came with it and found a problem. the pto will not turn on when i plug the electric lift wiring harness into the harness on the machine. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong? Thanks
